Focus on usability

An important part of the development of Wittario was and is usability. In order for the youngest students not to lose patience, we knew that we had to make it both easy to learn and to use. This also makes the threshold for using Wittario lower from the teacher's point of view.

Ideas for inspiration

There are many paths to take with our application. Which path you choose depends of course on the subject to be taught and which grade you are working in. We have set up some examples:

• Science – take care of the environment and create tasks about nature conservation. Pick up trash and register it in the app.

• Social studies – learn about local history on a walk and have tasks and questions related to the local environment

• Mathematics – Wittario allows you to easily set up math tasks with, for example, fractions. Let the children count how many spruce trees there are in relation to pine trees within a given radius and how to set it up as fractions.

• Physical activity – have relay races where the goal is to get your heart rate up while taking pictures of insects, for example, or you have to answer a question correctly before you can switch to the next person.

• Norwegian – take a picture of ten nouns, or a video of someone performing different verbs. Teachers who are on a trip can be great protagonists here.
