Aulie Route Officially Opened: Cycling in the Footsteps of Refugees

Einar Aulie operated part of this refugee route during World War II. It was named the Aulie-Route and ran between Nybakk - where there is a roundabout on the E16 (highway) today - and Mørkerud in Sweden. The route ran through Nes and Bjørknes.

The route is now marked, and information signs have been set up from Nybakk to Sweden.

Watch our new launch video marking the opening of this poignant refugee route from World War II. Here you'll get glimpses of the opening, powerful moments and the story of those who risked everything for freedom.

This is mote than a regular walking-tour - it's a living history you can walk in!
